Monmouth/Ocean County Adoptive Families Support Group, llc

Come, Talk, Share and Support

MISSION STATEMENT

We are the Monmouth/Ocean County Adoptive Families Support Group and the mission of our group is to provide a network of support, education and guidance to families and their communities who have been touched by transracial adoption.
We are presently serving Monmouth and Ocean counties in New Jersey and have opened our group to everyone touched by adoption in the belief that even though some members have not yet become adoptive families or have not crossed race lines through adoption, we can help not only educate but also provide a network of support.
The needs of all the children of our group members range from cultural awareness to heritage awareness to coping with the transition from foster families to being welcomed into a permanent loving forever family.  We hope to provide our children with a network of their own by introducing them to other children in families with similar cultural and/or racial backgrounds.  We believe these children will build lasting friendships that will enable them to support each other in dealing with the issues that may arise from adoption as well as transracial adoption.
